A Camera In Every Pocket

 I believe the fact that just about everyone has a phone now, with the simple tap of their screen, the can take a picture. A little child could take a picture with the kind of phones we have, and it could come out money worthy just because of how clear and how defined a picture on a phone can come out nowadays. Today, we could take one picture and believe it to be perfect. Before all these high tech phones came out and most people used a real camera, they had to take multiple photos to get one they liked the best. Even then, they could have multiple of one thing that they like from different point of views. There's also the wonder of photoshop, that they had the option of using with so many settings to enhance the picture. Yes, on the phones they also have enhancing options for pictures, but I believe you have more options with actual photoshop. But just because you can take a nice picture on your phone, doesn't mean you have the means or skill to be a photographer and run your own business. The market of buying cameras is dropping big time, but according to Temoor Iqbal on PetaPixel, "The response perfectly encapsulates one of the market’s main problems: a lack of innovation. Unlike in other stagnating areas of technology—such as laptops and televisions—no complete alternative has yet superseded digital cameras. They are still widely used and appreciated, especially at a professional level where tiny smartphone cameras cannot compete, but the incentive to regularly upgrade is being eroded." Everything, from pictures to our latest desination is posted for the whole world to see. Not much, for example news, is very paper based anymore. We all rely on technology to save and hold onto our things. But what if it were to happen technology is no longer our friend anymore? What are we going to do then? "Photography is no longer the province of professionals. Nor are family snaps consigned to neglected memorial albums."(Stephen Bayley) I'm not going to say that photography is dead, because I don't think it is really. But I feel like people are losing the concept of what photography is really is, what it means, and are throwing it to the side as just some object you can take you the tap of your finger.
